History
Hoquiam’s Grand Central is a historic location with a rich history. Built in 1923 in record time, the building was originally called the Grand Central Public Market.
Its second iteration was as Totem Grocery; then it was commandeered as one of the two original Boeing plants.
After Boeing closed down, the location became the home of the Motor Buggy Trailer Supply Company. When this enterprise closed, the location was purchased and redone for the YMCA, where it served the community for about 40 years.
Ben Winkelman purchased the building in 2015; Hoquiam Grand Central has been upgraded and is now serving the community as an events location.
